Sunshine State appoints new chief underwriting officer

Sunshine State Insurance Company (SSIC), a Florida-based homeowners' insurance writer, has appointed Michael Cratem as new vice president-chief underwriting officer.

Sunshine has said that Cratem has 18 years of insurance experience. He will return to SSIC after three years as senior vice president of Intendant Holding Corporation/Kings Bay Insure Services in Florida.

Previously, he served as marketing/underwriting manager and VP-underwriting during the early years of Sunshine's growth.

He also spent at Prudential Property & Casualty Insurance and Prudential Healthcare where he gained experience in underwriting and group healthcare insurance management.
