IBR Staff Writer Published 13 May 2010

Greenway University, a medical marijuana business school in compliance and education, has partnered with Prince Insurance Group to develop Greenway Insurance.

According to Greenway University, the new Greenway Insurance which is being developed will be the first product of its kind and will offer insurance for every aspect of the medical marijuana industry from dispensary owners to growers.

The university said that Greenway Insurance will offer a range of services including general liability, theft, fire, crop cultivation, workers compensation, auto and edibles coverage.

In addition, the development of the Greenway insurance marks the next phase of its growth to being the a medical marijuana education and information business school and services organization. Having many tools and information raises the bar and provides students with resources they need in order to bring standardization, systemization and validation to industry.

Gus Escamilla, founder and CEO of Greenway University, said: “Until today, little to no protection existed for dispensary owners against product loss or illness caused to patients from ingesting any items sold or stolen inventory.

“A brand such as Prince Insurance selecting Greenway as its partner for providing insurance in this rapidly advancing industry is a continued testament to the legitimacy and standardization of the medical marijuana industry, and the leadership position Greenway has established in this industry.”
