Fidelity National Financial (FNF), a provider of title insurance, mortgage services, and specialty insurance services, has hired George Scanlon as its new chief operating officer.

Mr Scanlon will be responsible for finance, treasury, investor relations and corporate functions, as well as FNF's specialty insurance business.

Mr Scanlon has joined FNF from Fidelity National Information Services, where he served as corporate executive vice president for finance since October 2009 and executive vice president and CFO from July 2008 to September 2009.

William Foley, chairman at Fidelity National financial, said: We are excited to have someone with George's broad financial experience join our management team. George is already familiar with our company from his time at FIS and he will be a great asset in helping FNF continue to meet our ongoing goal of creating value for our shareholders.
